Project Description – Setup of a High-Availability IT Infrastructure

Objective

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps / System Administrator to design, build, migrate, document, and hand over our complete IT infrastructure. The contractor will also train the CEO and IT team and remain available as a technical contact after the project.

Project Scope

- Migrate all domains, servers and services from Alfahosting, the current OVH environment and other providers to a new OVH Cloud infrastructure.
- Design and configure the complete infrastructure, including:
- Email Server
- Application Servers (2 ERP systems)
- Database Server (DBMS)
- File Server
- Web Server
- DNS and Domain Management
- Set up the complete development environment for the CEO and the IT team:
- Visual Studio Code
- GitHub
- Database connections (DBMS)
- Email accounts
- SSH access
- Development, staging and production environments
- Configure the complete development environment for all developers, including:
- Source code repositories
- GitHub access
- Local development environments
- Database access
- Applications
- User accounts and permissions
- Train all team members on the correct use of the development environment, source code, GitHub, databases, applications, access rights, security policies and daily workflows.
- Implement a centralized user, role and permission management system so that the CEO can independently create, modify, disable and remove users as well as assign and revoke permissions at any time.
- Implement a 3-2-1 Backup Strategy:
1. Primary production server hosted on OVH Cloud.
2. Automatic real-time replication to a second OVH backup server for fast failover.
3. Encrypted offline backup server located at our office/home for additional protection.
- Design and implement a Disaster Recovery solution that allows business operations to be restored as quickly as possible after a server failure.
- Configure monitoring, logging, backup verification and regular disaster recovery testing.
- Secure all servers, databases, GitHub repositories, email systems and applications using the principle of least privilege.

Documentation & Training

The contractor must provide complete technical documentation, including:

- Infrastructure overview
- Server architecture
- Network documentation
- Backup documentation
- Disaster Recovery documentation
- User and permission concept
- Installation guides
- Maintenance documentation
- Administrative handbook
- Access and credential documentation

The contractor must also record video training sessions for the CEO and the IT team covering:

- Server administration
- User and permission management
- Backup and restore procedures
- Disaster Recovery
- GitHub workflow
- Development environment
- Database administration
- Daily operational tasks

After completion, the entire infrastructure, documentation and all administrative credentials must be handed over to the CEO.

Post-Project Support

The contractor must remain available for up to three months after project completion to answer questions and provide minor support at no additional cost.

Optional Monthly System Administration

After the included three-month support period, an optional monthly support agreement may be arranged.

Optional System Administrator Fee: USD 100 per month
