Dockerized Mail Server Setup
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
We are looking for an experienced DevOps/System Administrator to install and configure Postal Mail Server using Docker on our VPS. The installation must be secure, scalable, white-labeled, and fully optimized for high email deliverability.
Project Scope
Postal Installation (via Docker)
Install Postal using Docker and Docker Compose on Ubuntu VPS
Set up and configure required containers:
Postal App
MySQL/MariaDB
RabbitMQ
Caddy/Nginx for reverse proxy
Redis (optional for performance)
Ensure proper network, volume, and environment configuration
DNS & Mail Configuration
Configure and verify:
SPF
DKIM
DMARC
rDNS / PTR Record
MX Records
Tracking & bounce domains
Assist in DNS record setup (via Cloudflare or domain panel)
SSL & Security
Install Let’s Encrypt SSL for the main and tracking domains
Secure all web interfaces (HTTPS)
Configure UFW firewall rules for essential ports only
White-Labeling & Branding
Custom hostname (e.g., mail.yourdomain.com)
White-label tracking domain (e.g., track.yourdomain.com)
Remove default Postal branding (where possible)
Ensure links, headers, and tracking are custom-branded
Deliverability & Performance
Setup queue and bounce handling correctly
Configure domain/IP throttling if required
Guidance on:
IP warm-up strategy
Inbox placement best practices
Blacklist monitoring tools (optional)
Post-Installation Deliverables
Admin access to Postal
Docker Compose files & env config
Backup guide for volumes/data
Brief documentation for adding new domains, IPs, users, etc.
7-day post-install support
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Docker, Linux (Ubuntu), Mail DNS, and MTA concepts
- Experience with email deliverability & anti-spam compliance
- Ability to complete the project within 2–3 days
