Django App Feature Enhancements

Job ID: 39779456

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I have a production Django application already containerised with Docker and need an experienced developer to extend its functionality. The core stack is Python 3.x, Django, PostgreSQL and Redis, all orchestrated with docker-compose, so you’ll be working inside an existing Docker workflow from day one.

The immediate objective is to add new features that plug cleanly into our current code-base. While we have a roadmap that includes items such as user authentication improvements, fresh API end-points and a richer reporting layer, I’m open to hearing your suggestions on the best sequence and technical approach once you have reviewed the repository.

You will:
• Analyse the existing code and identify the hooks for the upcoming features.
• Implement the agreed features using Django best practices, writing concise, well-documented code and database migrations where needed.
• Update or create unit / integration tests so the full test suite passes in CI.
• Ensure the app continues to build and run flawlessly with our docker-compose setup.
• Submit a clean pull request with clear commit history and short installation notes for the new functionality.

Acceptance criteria will be a green test run in our CI pipeline and a docker-compose up that launches the enhanced service without errors.

If you are fluent in Django patterns, comfortable squashing bugs you uncover along the way and can work collaboratively via Git, I’d love to hear how you would tackle the next iteration of the project.
