iCloud+ Custom Domain Migration from Google
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I need an Apple-savvy consultant who has successfully moved small teams off Google Workspace and onto iCloud+ with custom domains. We are an eight-person office currently running mail and a light file server on Google. The goal is to place everything—mailboxes, aliases and shared files—inside Apple’s ecosystem while keeping our custom domain intact and downtime close to zero.
At the moment I’m not fixed on whether we should split the domain across two iCloud Families or lean on aliases; I’d like you to weigh both options against our headcount limits, future growth and any quirks you have run into in past projects. Email configuration is my biggest worry: MX cut-over, DNS propagation, preserving labels, forwarding rules and making sure every user sees mail exactly where they expect it on day one. Folder structure for each account is still open for discussion, so please be ready to advise on best practices for organising mail once we land in Apple Mail.
Core work I expect from you:
• Pre-migration audit of current Google settings, storage use and DNS records
• A written migration plan that spells out which route—family split or alias matrix—fits us best, including a fallback strategy
• Configuration and live cut-over of iCloud+ mail, custom domain records and shareable iCloud Drive folders
• Post-migration verification, user sign-ins on macOS, iOS and web, plus a concise hand-off guide
- Only 1 domain and about 8 email users to migrate and change some MX records.
Only respond if you have completed this exact transition before and can point to it when we talk.
