Routing Basics

The topology will have all cables connected for you. You will not need to connect cables
You won't be asked to perform subnetting as you did on the NET 125 exam. But will need to be able to identify addresses within a subnet such as first or last usable addresses. You will need to be able to translate between prefix notation and dotted-decimal notation for subnet masks. Given an IP address and mask you may need to determine the network address

Configuration tasks that may be on the Skills Exam:
Basic configuration includes: disabling DNS lookup, hostnames, setting passwords and securing passwords, banners, interface configuration, management interface/SVI, loopbacks, enabling IPv6 routing, domain name, SSH, VTY and IPv4 and IPv6 addressing. In many of the recent labs you have not had to do this configuration. You may want to review earlier PTs to brush up on these commands.
VLANs: creation, assigning access ports, trunks, DTP, native VLAN, Router-on-a-Stick, Layer 3 switch Inter-VLAN routing
STP : You may need to use STP show commands and interpret the output

You must change the User Profile in Packet Tracer Skills Exam from Guest to your name and email address. Exams with "Guest" will receive a zero.

In most cases, the directions are more specific than some of the practice Skills activities in NetAcad.
You can use your command journals on the Skills Exam
