Enable Squarespace SSL Certificate

Job ID: 39922754

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

My Squarespace-built site was hosted for years on Thomson Reuters/FindLaw. I have now reclaimed control and pointed the domain back to Squarespace (you can still see the staging address at https://bellflower-red-frgw.squarespace.com/config/settings/website), but SSL refuses to activate—the toggle simply reports “SSL certificates are unavailable.”

Here’s what I need:

• Audit the current DNS records and make any corrections required for Squarespace’s SSL provisioning (A records, CNAME, CAA, or TXT for verification).
• Enable HTTPS on the live domain through Squarespace settings, resolving the “SSL certificates are unavailable” message I received after my own attempt.
• Force-redirect all HTTP traffic to HTTPS and eliminate any mixed-content warnings across the site.
• Validate the installation with tools such as Qualys SSL Labs and provide a short hand-off document showing the final DNS configuration and steps taken.

I still have registrar access as well as Squarespace login credentials. Once you confirm the SSL lock icon is solid on every page, the job is complete.
