Debug setup of name servers
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
I need help from a DNS expert. I'm running my own authoritative name servers (bind). However, I'm noticing issues with the setup. I'm fairly confident that my configuration is correct, but there must be something I'm missing. So I'm looking for help. I can offer 50€ plus another 50€ if you find an issue with my servers that solves the following problems, or at least some of them.
- Sometimes name resolution fails when using a third-party resolver like quad8, quad9, or quad1. This happens maybe 1 out of 10 times. You can test it with the domains: howlargeisthelhc.com, howlargeisthefcc.com, uhepp.org, vinogreets.com, fjell.ai, sauerburger.io, sauerburger.dev Once the records are cached by the third-party resolve, there is no problem anymore until the records expire.
- Furthermore, when I want to use them as authoritative name servers for domains bought on godaddy and strato, they are reject due to not further specified issues. I couldn't get any help from their support teams.
- Lastly, nslookup.io always fails (https://www.nslookup.io/domains/ns-0.sit-servers.net/dns-records/#authoritative). I tried to assess if there is an issue with the code at nslookup.io, but they didn't response.
The name servers are ns-0.sit-servers.net, ns-1.sit-servers.net, and ns-2.sit-servers.net (ns-2 not yet added in the .net zone). Server locations are AWS Oregon, Germany, and Germany, respectively, all on different AS. DNS services run on TCP and UDP ports of IPv4 and IPv6. The name servers are their own authoritative servers, so there are glue records in the .net zone, see attachment. I can send you the bind configuration files. Unfortunately, I cannot give you SSH access to the servers. If you need to add records to the servers for debugging purposes, I'm happy to do that.
Can you help me?
