3 stage project - quotes needed - clone server, Sql express DBs and web apps - Django Framework, SQL server, Python Scripting
Budget: $25 – $50 AUD
3 small projects required for a small business. Please provide estimate and time needed for each:
1) Analyse current VPS. Identify all components needed to replicate current VPS including SQL Express setup, 4 x DB and 3 x Web apps to a local private server.
a. Complete config of local private server for remote access. Setup ports, inbound rules, complete installation of SQL express for remote access etc. as required.
b. Make changes to config of SQL express on new local server, including python based web app as needed to run successfully.
c. Include other components – eg: Postgress DB, Django
d. Test all components of web apps (eg: reporting modules) are running successfully on new cloned server.
2) Analysis of DB instances & web app functionality
a. Review DB setup with focus on stored procedures. Review each procedure looking for coding issues.
b. Use analysis in (A) to understand the key functions and dataflows, report outputs of DB
c. Review Web app interface used to edit DB tables and trigger stored procedures in DB:
i. Identify issues in executing reports
ii. Identify issues in tokens and user permissions
iii. Identify issues where Django admin modules not performing functions successfully (or may have been hardcoded elsewhere)
iv. Identify issues where reports generated are slow to generate or give python or other errors
d. Make recommendations for changes
3) Review Web Apps/UI
a. Following completion of analysis and clean of DB/Procedures make recommendations to improve or replace DB and Web apps with new technologies
b. Include options for SSRS/Power Bi Paginated reports etc or alternatives
c. Make recommendations for best hosting of DB/Web Apps > AWS…. ?
d. Make suggestions estimates for ongoing maintenance
IMPORTANT NOTES:
• Previous developers have made some resources available in bitbucket repository which may be of assistance
• The current VPS is used for production > no changes permitted
• The work is for a small business, the business owner has only limited IT skills and time and cannot offer any assistance. All problems need to be solved by the developer/their team with only regular progress updates to the business owner.
• Prefer somebody located in AUS/NZ or UK/USA. Must be available to connect as needed in Sydney, Aus timezone ONLY.
• Details and server access will be provided AFTER proposal approved.
• Would prefer a fixed cost for each stage. If an initial budget for research is required please provide an estimate of cost as an extra first stage.
