to create a RESTful API that allows users to request and manage rides

I am looking for help creating a RESTful API that will let users request and manage rides. I prefer to use Basic authentication for accessing the API. When it comes to the framework, I have identified Django as the one most suited for my needs. As far as the database, I want MySQL as it has the functionality I need for this project.
