Senior Next.js Frontend Developer (4-Week Contract)

Project Overview
We’re looking for a Senior Next.js Developer to convert an existing Django MVT-based frontend into a Next.js 14+ application for smartlandlord.de.
The goal is to deliver a fully responsive, production-ready frontend with dark/light mode and PDF export features — within 4 weeks total.
AI-assisted code conversion tools are encouraged to speed up delivery.
Project Scope & Timeline
Week 1–3 (Development)
Convert 40+ Django MVT templates into Next.js pages using App Router
Implement dark/light mode (Tailwind or CSS variables)
Recreate existing UI layouts and design consistency
Integrate base component library (shadcn/ui, MUI, or Chakra UI)
Add responsive design across all breakpoints
Implement PDF generation for designated pages (react-pdf, jsPDF, or Puppeteer)
Week 4 (Integration & QA)
Integrate with Django REST Framework APIs
Add authentication and state management (React Query or Zustand)
Fix bugs, optimize performance, and test all flows
Finalize all pages, themes, and PDF outputs for production
Technical Requirements
Must-Have Skills
5+ years React/Next.js experience
Expert-level with Next.js 14+ (App Router) and TypeScript
Experience converting from Django/Jinja templates or similar server-rendered systems
Strong understanding of modern component-based UI development
Theming & responsive design expertise (Tailwind, MUI, or Chakra)
REST API integration with authentication
PDF export experience (react-pdf, jsPDF, Puppeteer, etc.)
Solid Git/GitHub workflow
Preferred
Experience integrating with Django REST Framework
Familiarity with AI-assisted code conversion tools (e.g., GPT, v0, Codex, or similar)
Strong sense of clean, professional UI design
Testing experience (Jest or React Testing Library)
