React and Django developer needed

Job ID: 39389105

Budget: €250 – €750 EUR

Hi! I'm looking for a React and Django developer to help us implement several improvements on our platform, Novik. The backend is already working with Django, and the frontend is built using React with Vite.

Tasks:

1. Update the placeholder text in the input field
Replace the current placeholder text in the user input box with a new text

2. Fix the position of the input box at the bottom of the screen
Ensure that the user input field remains fixed at the bottom of the viewport, similar to ChatGPT or other modern messaging interfaces, so users don’t have to scroll down after reading a response to continue typing.

3. Maintain conversation context between user inputs
Implement a memory or session-based system so that the assistant can retain context from previous messages, allowing for fluid, coherent conversations rather than treating each prompt as an isolated query.

4. Allow simultaneous PDF upload and text input
Enable users to upload a PDF file and write a prompt at the same time, without forcing them to choose between one action or the other. This streamlines the workflow and improves usability.

5. Rebuild and ensure full functionality of the PubMed API integration
Audit and rebuild the current PubMed API integration if necessary. The system must be able to retrieve scientific articles from the last 5 years that relate the patient's medical history to Novik's treatment suggestions. The references must be displayed using Vancouver style with superscript numbering in the text, and the full citations listed at the end of the response. The current integration is unreliable and must be reviewed and corrected to work consistently.

6. Implement a user database manager
Develop a backend system that allows for storing, managing, and accessing information about registered users (e.g., email, country of origin). This data should be accessible through an admin panel or a simple dashboard.

7. Add an intuitive banner management system
Integrate a no-code banner manager (similar to a WordPress plugin) that allows administrators to easily upload, update, and remove banner ads. It should also provide basic analytics such as impressions and click-through rates.

8. Deploy the final version to the production server
Once all features are implemented and tested, the developer must deploy the fully functional application to the production environment, ensuring everything works smoothly on the live server.
