Optimize the interface of a chat application (Django, HTML/SASS/JS) - very short deadline
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Looking for a very experienced full stack developer who can help me implement some specific features in a MVP chat application that is developed by me using Django with HTML/SASS/JS. The frontend is actually a theme bought from the internet which was modified by me to accommodate my needs and now I need someone to optimise it.
Required Experience:
- Real time chat applications built with Django and websockets (Django channels, Daphne)
- HTML/SASS/JS
- Asynchronous requests
- Docker
- Secure (SSL) the web application when deploying to a server
- Scaling web applications in cloud
When applying to the job, please describe which real time chat applications build with Django and websockets have you developed.
The main tasks will be:
1. implement asynchronous loading of the older messages (now I display them all when I load the page, which is ineffective for long chat history)
2. implement asynchronous download of chart generated HTML code from S3 and display into a modal. The context of this task is that some messages have a button "Show Chart". On that button I set the "data-chart" attribute with the HTML code of the chart. When the button is pressed, a modal is displayed and the HTML code is inserted in that modal. But again, this is very ineffective because that HTML code could have a big size. Instead, we can set the "data-chart" attribute to a S3 URL and when the button is pressed, the backend downloads the HTML code and when the download is ready, we show the chart.
3. deploy the web application (using Docker) with SSL encryption (HTTPS)
There will be other 2 tasks that are purely frontend (displaying some texts better than I currently do)
This is a very short engagement, but I want to keep in touch with the developer for other features of this MVP that will be required in the future.
VERY SHORT DEADLINE!
