MERN Stack Developer for Security Platform
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We are seeking an experienced MERN stack developer to help complete and enhance our web-based platform for distributed security scanning and server management. The project is already in progress, with a solid foundation in place, and you will be responsible for building not more than 3 Primary features, improving existing functionality, and ensuring robust deployment and operations.
About the Project:
Our platform (RedirectRanger) allows users to manage multiple servers, deploy Python-based open redirect scanners, schedule and monitor scans, and analyze results—all from a modern web interface. The stack includes React (frontend), Node.js/Express (backend), and a Python (Flask) microservice for scanning.
What You’ll Do:
- Review and understand the existing codebase (well-documented, with onboarding docs provided)
- Implement new features and complete partially finished modules (frontend and backend) ( Precise Details will be shared in Personal)
-Integrate and improve the deployment automation for the Python scanner (systemd, Gunicorn, SSH)
- Enhance the UI/UX for server management, scan scheduling, and results analysis
- Debug, test, and document your work for maintainability
- Collaborate with the project owner and (optionally) other developers
Key Technologies:
React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Vite (frontend)
Node.js, Express, SQLite (backend)
Python 3, Flask, Gunicorn (scanner microservice)
PM2, systemd, SSH, GitHub Actions (deployment/ops)
You Should Have:
-Proven experience with the MERN stack (React, Node.js, Express, MongoDB/SQLite)
-Strong skills in REST API design and integration
-Experience with deployment automation (PM2, systemd, SSH, CI/CD)
-Familiarity with Python/Flask microservices is a plus
-Ability to read and extend existing code, and write clear documentation
-Good communication skills and reliability
Nice to Have:
-Experience with security tools or distributed systems
-UI/UX design skills
-Familiarity with cloud deployment (AWS, DigitalOcean, etc.)
