LMS & Web Platform Engineer
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated LMS & Web Platform Engineer to lead the migration, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of our learning management system (LMS) and related web platforms. This role will be instrumental in delivering a seamless, engaging, and secure learning experience for our diverse user base.
Responsibilities:
1. Server Migration & Infrastructure Management:
Website & Email Migration:
Execute a smooth migration of website files, databases, and configurations to a new Plesk server environment.
Ensure all website functionalities operate flawlessly post-migration.
Manage DNS updates to accurately point to the new server IP address.
Migrate email server and settings, guaranteeing seamless email functionality across Outlook and mobile devices.
Testing & Verification:
Conduct rigorous testing of website and email functionalities on the new server to validate performance and stability.
Security Hardening:
Implement robust security measures, including firewall configuration, software updates, and other best practices, to protect the server from vulnerabilities.
Post-Migration Support:
Provide comprehensive post-migration support to address and resolve any emerging issues.
2. LMS Development & Enhancement:
UI/UX Overhaul:
Lead a comprehensive UI/UX redesign, focusing on a simplified and child-friendly interface.
Implement single sign-on (SSO) and intuitive login processes.
Develop distinct user interfaces for three user levels (students, teachers, and administrators).
Ensure clear navigation, information architecture, and a visually appealing design.
Facilitate easy enrollment for schools, classes, and users via CSV imports.
Create a customizable interface for microsites and implement a mobile-first design approach.
Develop a mobile application.
Enhanced Reporting & Analytics:
Develop detailed learner performance reports, including course completion rates and engagement metrics.
Design customizable reports and dashboards for students, teachers, and administrators.
Integrate with learning analytics tools.
Implement a 3 level reporting system.
Develop detailed educator analytics.
XBlock Development & Integration:
Develop and integrate LTI tools for interactive exercises.
Implement whitelabeled coding platform XBlocks/LTIs.
Integrate ChatGPT API for AI-assisted lesson planning and student tutoring.
Gamification:
Design and implement a comprehensive gamification system, including badges, point-based zones, leaderboards, and progress bars.
Develop a reward system for all user actions.
General Enhancements:
Optimize LMS performance and ensure seamless integration of side modules.
Implement robust data privacy and security measures, including data encryption and compliance with relevant regulations.
3. Whitelabeling of Educational Platforms:
Implement and customize whitelabeling for platforms like Scratch, Blockpy, and ScratchJr.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience in server migration, DNS management, and email migration.
Extensive experience in LMS development and customization.
Strong UI/UX design and development skills.
Proficiency in database management and web development technologies.
Experience with XBlock development and LTI integrations.
Knowledge of AI integration and API usage (e.g., ChatGPT).
Strong understanding of data privacy and security best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience with mobile application development.
Experience with gamification implementation.
Experience with cloud based server management, and deployment.
