Full-Stack Developer for Real Estate Site Refinement
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I'm seeking an experienced full-stack developer to make adjustments to an 80% completed real estate scraping subscription site. The front end is built with React and the backend with Python. To be clear: all of the systems are in place, we are only needing fixes, additions, or re-designs of current systems.
• Create a 10-result free preview of listings that can be seen after the customer registers as a free user (everyone can see 10 free listings free, but subscribers get access to all listings.) Subscription is already setup, just need to add the 10-result free preview to the page.
• Delete "Contact" phone number from scraping / listings results. This was never supposed to be included. Delete "Contact" button, which was never supposed to be there and currently links to pictures...
• Add additional user management to signup / subscription system on the frontend: CUSTOMER ability to upload a profile picture and ability to manage subscription (cancel paid or upgrade to paid from free) and customers should be able to change / update their e-mail. ADMIN management capabilities to front end: manage users and their subscriptions, delete and block users, create free users or new user accounts, change user passwords or e-mails, or send password resets).
• Change "Area" field label on results to "Building Area". Add additional search filter: search by city. Fix "copy link" button. This was never made properly. Its purpose is to allow one subscribed user to copy the listing link and then share it with another registered (paid) user. Currently, the link can be copied, but when shared to any other user, it does not work. This needs to be fixed.
• Fix: price conversion / translation. Currently our data is scraped from Japanese sites and then translated. The most important part of that, the property price, was coded wrong. Some of the listings are not translating the price correctly, resulting in some results missing an extra zero or adding numbers. This makes the prices completely inaccurate. This needs to be fixed, and is a TOP priority.
• Fix: duplicate listings. We scrape data from multiple sites, but there are not supposed to be duplicate listings. Worse, two of the same listings currently have different prices, due to the translation problem mentioned above.
• Add: "original link". Each result should have a link that goes to the original source / advertisement from which it was scraped - but ONLY for Admin users. Regular customers should not see the original link. This is another top priority. Fix any additional bugs or errors we find while you are working on this project, until the site is fully functional.
Ideal Skills and Experience: - Proficiency in React and Python - Strong UI/UX design skills - Experience in fixing bugs and adding features in existing applications - Reliable and able to accommodate various changes Please ensure you have a solid track record and can deliver quality work in a timely manner. Payments will only be approved when all the necessary adjustments are made to our satisfaction. This is an easy gig, as most of the site is complete and functioning.
