Full DigitalOcean Migration: Site & Apps
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a smooth move of my entire stack to DigitalOcean—website, database, and several small supporting applications. The site is a dynamic CMS-driven install; although I haven’t pinned down the exact platform here, assume one of the common PHP-based options (WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal) and plan for whichever you find once you have access.
Here’s what I’m expecting from the engagement:
• Spin up an optimised Droplet (or managed Kubernetes if you feel it suits the app tier better) and configure the underlying Linux environment, firewalls, and backups.
• Migrate the CMS site, all media, themes/plugins, and its database without breaking links or permalinks and with minimal downtime.
• Lift and shift the companion applications, wiring them to the same database server if appropriate or provisioning separate instances if that is cleaner.
• Point DNS to DigitalOcean and confirm SSL, email routing, and cron jobs are working.
• Post-migration sanity test: pages load, admin login works, data writes correctly, and performance meets or exceeds the current host.
You’ll have full SSH and panel access to the current server as well as the new DigitalOcean account. Please outline your proposed approach, any automation or DevOps tooling (Ansible, Terraform, GitHub Actions, etc.) you plan to use, and a realistic timeline. A brief rollback plan is appreciated as well.
