Configure Brevo SMTP on Ubuntu
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I’m running a Laravel 8 application on an Ubuntu server at DigitalOcean and need Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) wired in for all transactional emails. My Brevo account is already active; what’s missing is the server-side configuration.
The goal is simple: set up Brevo using its SMTP relay (I’m open to the HTTPS API if SMTP doesn't work (seems like digital ocean blocked it)), update the Laravel .env so MAIL_* values are correct, and verify that messages reach an inbox without landing in spam.
Sending email with the "contact us" form will serve as proof everything is working.
Once the connection is live, please document the key steps you took so I can replicate the setup on staging in the future.
Only apply if you have proven experience with Digital Ocean, ubuntu, laravel 8 & brevo.
