Realistic Ebook Illustrations

Job ID: 40219578

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I am ready to commission a cohesive set of 11-20 full-colour illustrations for my upcoming young-adult ebook. The visual tone I’m after is grounded and believable—think realistic anatomy, natural lighting and expressive faces that still leave room for a touch of imaginative flair.

You will receive a chapter-by-chapter brief outlining each scene, its mood, and any key character or setting references. I’m happy to provide photo mood boards and style references, but I rely on your artistic judgment to elevate the material beyond simple reference copying.

Because the book is aimed at young adults, the imagery should feel mature enough for teen readers yet still vibrant and engaging. Overly cartoonish or abstract looks won’t fit this project; instead, detailed digital painting or highly polished pencil-and-ink work finished in Photoshop, Procreate or a similar tool will hit the mark.

Deliverables
• 11–20 finished illustrations supplied as high-resolution PNG or TIFF (minimum 300 dpi, sized for 6"×9" pages)
• Layered source files (PSD or Procreate) so the designer handling layout can make minor tweaks if needed
• A consistent colour palette and lighting style across all pieces
• Two rounds of revisions on each illustration to fine-tune character likeness, composition and colour grading

I’ll review rough thumbnails first, then approve cleaned-up sketches before we move to final rendering; this way we stay aligned on pacing and visual continuity. Timelines are flexible within reason, yet I’d like to wrap finals within four to six weeks of project start.

If bringing believable characters and immersive settings to life for a young-adult audience sounds like your wheelhouse, let’s talk—I’m eager to see your portfolio and discuss next steps.
