JNBOOKSCREATOR
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I’m compiling a collection of original illustrations for an upcoming book and need a creative partner who excels at purely abstract work. Every drawing should feel imaginative and evocative rather than representational—no literal figures or cartoon elements, just shapes, color relationships, and movement that invite the reader to interpret them freely.
The illustrations will appear as full-page plates and occasional chapter openers, so a consistent visual language is important. I’m leaning toward bold palettes and confident mark-making, yet I’m open to geometric precision, organic flow, layered textures, or a mix of all three if it serves the composition. Feel free to propose techniques ranging from digital painting in Procreate or Adobe Illustrator to scanned ink or acrylic work refined in Photoshop; high-resolution, print-ready files (minimum 300 dpi CMYK) are the key requirement.
Deliverables
• 12 finished abstract illustrations sized to a trim area of 6.5" × 9.5" with 0.125" bleed
• Source files for each piece (PSD, AI, or layered TIFF)
• A brief style guide summarizing palette, brush settings, and any fonts used in incidental text, so future volumes can match the look
I’ll provide chapter summaries and mood keywords to inspire each illustration once we start. Please share samples of previous abstract pieces—completed book art is ideal—and note your typical turnaround time per image. Looking forward to collaborating on visuals that will captivate readers’ imaginations from the very first page.
