Infant Adventure Board Book Illustration
Budget: $100 – $110 AUD
My project is a board book for babies and toddlers aged 0-3 that takes them on a gentle journey of discovery—think first adventures in a park, meeting friendly animals and touching textured objects along the way. The text is already written (about 120 words); what I need now is artwork that feels realistic and detailed yet remains warm, soft-edged and age-appropriate so little readers can recognise shapes and settings while still being captivated by colour and depth.
Watercolour, coloured-pencil or carefully rendered digital painting are all welcome as long as the final effect looks hand-crafted rather than flat or cartoony. I’m happy to share reference photos and a rough storyboard once we connect.
Deliverables
• Rough character and scene sketches for approval
• full-page illustrations plus a wrap-around cover, supplied as layered PSD or high-resolution TIFF (minimum 300 dpi, CMYK)
• Print-ready PDF laid out to my printer’s template
• A separate low-res PDF for online previews
I’ll review pencil drafts first, then move to colour once composition is locked. Two revision rounds at each stage are plenty for me.
If you love creating richly detailed worlds that tiny hands can explore, I’d love to see a couple of portfolio pieces that show realistic treatment of animals, nature or everyday toddler scenes.
