About the Project
We are launching a new book across major digital marketplaces including Amazon (Kindle + Paperback), Google Play Books, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Apple Books, and other international retailers. In parallel, we are building a strong author brand presence across social media to drive awareness, reviews, sales, and long-term audience growth.
We need a digital marketing specialist with deep experience in book marketing to lead the promotion across ecommerce channels and social platforms.
Role Overview
Your job is to create, manage, and optimise book launch campaigns across Amazon and other ebook platforms—and amplify visibility through content marketing on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), YouTube Shorts, and TikTok (optional).
This role requires someone who understands Amazon algorithms, metadata optimisation, book-ranking strategies, review pipelines, and multi-platform content repurposing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Amazon & eBook Marketplace Marketing
Optimise Amazon KDP listing (title, subtitle, categories, keywords, author bio, A+ content).
Set up and manage Amazon Ads (Sponsored Products, Lockscreen Ads, Keyword campaigns).
Conduct category + competitor research to position the book for ranking traction.
Prepare and optimise listings on:
Google Play Books
Barnes & Noble Press
Kobo
Apple Books
Goodreads (author profile, book page, quotes, lists, giveaways)
Track daily/weekly sales, impressions, click-throughs, and ranking shifts.
2. Social Media & Content Marketing
Develop and execute content to promote:
The book’s core message
Quotes + excerpts
Key frameworks/perspectives
Pre-launch, launch, and post-launch narratives
Author positioning as a thought leader
Create platform-ready content for:
Facebook
Instagram (carousels, reels, stories)
LinkedIn (article-style posts, carousels)
X (Twitter) threads
YouTube Shorts / TikTok (optional bonus)
Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Midjourney, Runway, Canva AI, CapCut, etc.) for:
Quote designs
Visuals and promotional graphics
Short video clips
Hooks, captions, CTA optimisations
Repurposing long-form content into multi-format assets
3. Audience Growth & Engagement
Manage the author’s Goodreads, Amazon Author Central, and LinkedIn presence.
Engage with relevant communities (AI ethics, digital rights, surveillance capitalism, tech/business) to drive organic awareness.
Identify influencers, reviewers, podcast hosts, newsletter writers, and YouTube channels for outreach.
Build and manage early reviewer lists.
Coordinate discount promotions (e.g., Kindle Countdown Deals) and campaign windows.
4. Email Marketing & Funnel Setup
Optional but recommended:
Create an email sequence for book readers
Build lead magnets (book summaries, chapter previews, checklists)
Send launch updates, highlights, reviews, media mentions
Manage list through Mailchimp, Brevo, or HubSpot
5. Analytics & Reporting
Weekly reporting across:
Amazon rankings
Ads performance
Ebook store sales
Social media reach + engagement
Review count & rating trends
Recommendations for optimisation
Required Skills & Experience
Prior experience promoting books/authors (Amazon KDP experience is essential)
Strong understanding of:
Amazon SEO (title, keyword, category engineering)
Amazon Ads management
Goodreads ecosystem
Ebook metadata optimisation
Proven skill in creating high-quality AI-assisted content for social channels
Strong copywriting ability (hooks, storytelling, thought-leadership tone)
Ability to work independently and deliver quickly
Experience in long-form → short-form repurposing
Familiarity with AI, digital rights, technology, or policy topics is a plus
