Digital Marketing Manager
Google + Meta + SEO

About Lane Automotive
Lane Automotive is a premier supplier of high-performance automotive parts and accessories, serving racers, hot rodders, truck owners, and off-road enthusiasts worldwide. As a leading distributor in the performance aftermarket industry, we are proud to be a six-time recipient of the SEMA Warehouse Distributor of the Year award.
Based in Southwest Michigan, Lane Automotive has built a strong reputation through consistent growth, innovation, and a commitment to delivering cutting-edge products. Our advanced technological infrastructure and deep industry expertise allow us to stay ahead in an increasingly competitive market.
We are driven by our people, agility, and relentless focus on performance. We foster a dynamic and rewarding environment where ambitious professionals can grow, innovate, and make a real impact.
About the Role
We are looking for a Digital Marketing Manager to take full ownership of our digital acquisition strategy across multiple campaigns and channels.
This role is responsible for managing and scaling paid media performance, overseeing SEO and conversion optimization, and coordinating external contractors to ensure execution quality across all active growth initiatives. You will serve as the single point of accountability for performance across both paid and organic channels, helping Lane Automotive drive stronger acquisition efficiency, better conversion performance, and more coordinated marketing execution.
This is a high-responsibility role for someone who can operate both strategically and hands-on. You should be comfortable making performance decisions, aligning channel strategy across Google, Meta, SEO, and CRO, and ensuring that contractors and specialists are working toward clear business outcomes rather than isolated tasks.
Engagement Details
This is a freelance / contract-based remote role open to global candidates. We are looking for someone interested in long-term collaboration, with an expected workload of 20–40 hours per week depending on business needs, campaign volume, and growth opportunities.
For collaboration purposes, availability overlapping with U.S. time zones, especially EST or CST, is preferred.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
1. Paid Media Management
Paid media is a core responsibility of this role. You will manage full-funnel campaigns across Google Ads and Meta Ads, with direct responsibility for monitoring, optimizing, and scaling performance across multiple active campaigns.
You will be expected to manage performance against key business metrics such as Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Return on Ad Spend (ROAS), and Cost per Lead, while making informed decisions around budget allocation, campaign structure, audience targeting, and scaling priorities.
This role requires someone who understands how to move beyond basic platform management and instead use paid media as a real acquisition engine tied to revenue, efficiency, and business growth.
2. SEO & Conversion Optimization
You will oversee SEO strategy and execution and ensure it is aligned with broader acquisition and growth goals. This includes working on organic visibility improvements, coordinating SEO execution where needed, and making sure SEO efforts support not just traffic growth, but commercially relevant traffic and stronger acquisition outcomes.
You will also guide landing page optimization and broader conversion rate optimization efforts across funnels. This means identifying friction points, improving page effectiveness, and ensuring traffic from both paid and organic channels has a stronger chance of converting into qualified leads or revenue-generating actions.
3. Multi-Channel Strategy
This role requires a strong ability to connect channels rather than manage them in isolation. You will align paid media, SEO, and conversion strategies into one coordinated acquisition system, making sure each channel supports overall business goals.
You will also identify new acquisition channels, test new growth opportunities, and evaluate which initiatives should be expanded, refined, or deprioritized based on performance. We are looking for someone who can think in terms of total marketing efficiency, not just individual platform activity.
4. Contractor & Project Management
You will manage external contractors and specialists involved in execution, including SEO specialists, designers, developers, creative teams, and other external partners or agencies where relevant.
This includes setting direction, clarifying priorities, reviewing output quality, and ensuring deliverables support performance goals. You will be expected to maintain accountability across all contributors and make sure external execution remains aligned with strategy, timelines, and expected business impact.
Workflow & Working Rhythm
This role follows a structured operating cadence.
Daily, you will monitor campaign performance, review KPIs such as CAC, ROAS, and conversion performance, and coordinate with team members or contractors involved in active workstreams.
Weekly, you will analyze performance trends, optimize campaigns and landing pages, review contractor deliverables, and ensure channel execution remains aligned with broader growth priorities.
Monthly, you will report on performance across channels, adjust strategy and budget allocation, and identify scaling opportunities based on data, channel trends, and business priorities.
Reporting & Deliverables
This role includes both strategic reporting and hands-on execution oversight.
You will be expected to provide:
Weekly performance reports covering CAC, ROAS, CPL, and other key performance indicators
Monthly strategic reports summarizing growth insights, recommendations, and channel performance direction
Dashboard tracking across campaigns and acquisition channels
Core deliverables include:
Campaign performance optimization
Strategic marketing plans
Contractor management and execution oversight
Reporting dashboards and actionable insights
This is a role where reporting should not be passive. The expectation is that data is used to inform decisions, improve execution quality, and guide future scaling.
How We Measure Success
Success in this role will be measured through a mix of acquisition efficiency, conversion performance, and execution quality across channels. Key metrics include:
Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)
Return on Ad Spend (ROAS)
Conversion rate
Lead quality
Revenue attribution
Strong performance in this role means improving not just campaign outputs, but the overall quality of digital acquisition across paid and organic channels, while maintaining clear accountability across all moving parts.
Collaboration
You will work closely with:
Marketing / Growth Lead
SEO specialists
Designers and developers
External contractors and agencies
This role sits at the center of multiple execution layers, so strong communication, clear prioritization, and reliable follow-through are essential.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone with 2+ years of experience in digital marketing and strong hands-on experience managing both Google Ads and Meta Ads.
You should have experience managing meaningful ad budgets, a solid understanding of SEO strategy and CRO, and the ability to oversee multiple campaigns, brands, or acquisition workstreams at the same time. A strong analytical mindset is important, as this role depends on interpreting data correctly and using it to make better strategic and tactical decisions.
You should also have experience managing contractors or agencies, because part of this role involves maintaining execution quality and accountability across external contributors.
Nice to Have
The following would be valuable, though not required:
Experience in regulated or highly competitive industries
Experience with multi-brand or portfolio marketing
Strong understanding of attribution models
