NHS Counter Fraud Authority
Budget: €40,057 – €45,839 EUR
The post holder will work as part of the NHSCFA Forensic Computing Unit, within the Operations Directorate, whose responsibility is to investigate allegations of fraud, bribery and corruption in the NHS.
The Forensic Computing Specialist will work as part of a dedicated team who work to identify, preserve, extract, interpret and present computer based evidence and provide an efficient and effective forensic computing support function to the NHSCFA.
Please note the vacancy site is currently Skipton House, London, SE1 6LH, however, at the end of April 2022 we will be moving to our new site 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London, E14 4PU.
The post holder will require Digital Forensics and eDiscovery skills along with the ability to apply these pragmatically to the ever changing landscape of digital evidence.
Whilst currently not an in house specialism, experience of acquiring and analysing mobile devices alongside computer devices is particularly welcome.
Occasional attendance at warrants nationwide to capture digital evidence on site is expected. This will involve some travel and overnight stays as a result.
Previous experience of an ISO 17025 environment would be advantageous
The NHS Counter Fraud Authority (NHSCFA) is a Special Health Authority and is the national body responsible all for matters relating to the prevention, detection and investigation of economic crime across the NHS. Aligned to the DH Health Group Counter Fraud strategy, the NHSCFA acts as the principal lead for the NHS and wider health group in counter fraud intelligence work.
The Forensic Computing Unit is a small, dedicated, specialised unit within the organisation that provides forensic computing capability to assist investigations undertaken by the NHSCFA and partner agencies. Consequently, the FCU is at the heart of a wide variety of investigations across different legal environments.
The post holder can expect a comprehensive training package, along with support and mentoring as they adapt to their new role in a friendly and collegial environment
The main duties involve the collection of evidential items, the forensic capture and preservation of the data thereon within the ISO accredited framework applied by the unit. Processing and presenting of this data for review by investigators and assisting this process through to its conclusion.
