Whimsical Children’s Book Illustrations
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I’m finalising a children’s story aimed at readers aged 6-11 and now need the visuals to bring it fully to life. The look I’m after is unmistakably whimsical—think playful lines, vibrant colours and a touch of magic in every scene—so please only reply if that style feels natural to you.
The book calls for somewhere between 11 and 20 full-page illustrations. I already have thorough written descriptions of each main character and several key settings, so you will be working from clear guidance rather than guessing. That said, I always welcome creative suggestions that push the charm and energy of the story even further.
Here’s how I see the collaboration unfolding:
• I send you the manuscript plus my character and scene notes.
• You share rough concept sketches for each illustration so we lock in composition and mood early.
• Once concepts are approved, you render the final artwork in high-resolution CMYK (print-ready) as well as RGB web versions.
• We keep an open feedback loop—two revision rounds on finals should be plenty given the upfront planning.
Final deliverables: layered source files (PSD or Procreate), flattened TIFFs for print, and web-optimised JPEG/PNG versions.
If you love crafting whimsical worlds and can manage that 11–20 illustration range within a reasonable timeline, let’s talk and schedule the first sketch review.
