Vintage Cartoon Panel Colorization

I have a single black-and-white cartoon panel from the early 1950s that I’d like to bring back to life. I will supply a clean scan of the original; your task is to digitally restore the line art, then apply color in a vintage, slightly muted palette that feels true to the era.

Key points
• Finish at 600 dpi or higher so the image is press-ready for possible large-format printing.
• Use your best judgement on colors, but I can share a reference book that shows how this strip appeared in print back then—treat it as guidance rather than a rigid swatch sheet.
• Preserve the hand-drawn charm: no overly slick gradients or modern digital effects. Subtle texture that mimics old newsprint is welcome.

Deliverables
1. Layered PSD (or Procreate file) with cleaned line art separated from color layers.
2. Flattened TIFF and PNG at full resolution.
3. Small web preview (sRGB, 72 dpi) for quick sharing.

I’ll provide feedback at two milestones—after line clean-up and after the first color pass—so we can fine-tune hues before final export. If you have experience restoring Golden Age comics or classic newspaper strips, that’s a plus.
