What is Nutrition? – A colourful, engaging children’s book about healthy eating
About the Project:
I’m creating a playful and educational picture book to help young children (ages 3–8) understand what nutrition is. The story uses bright metaphors like gardens, rainbows, and magic juice to explain how food helps our bodies grow, move, and feel good.
I want someone to draw and depend on AI generation
The book is around 14 pages long and includes short, rhyming or descriptive text paired with bold, colourful illustrations. Each page introduces a different food group or concept (like fruits, grains, dairy, water, etc.) in a fun and accessible way.
Your Role:
You’ll create the illustrations that bring this book to life. I’m looking for someone who can:
Illustrate 14 full-colour spreads (1 per page)
Use a soft, child-friendly, vibrant style
Create inclusive and culturally respectful characters
Visually represent actions like “run,” “jump,” “twirl,” and show foods like “avocado,” “rice,” and “plantain” in a fun way
Preferred Illustration Style:
Bright colours and clear lines
Whimsical, soft, and playful
Diverse children/characters (Afro-Caribbean representation is a bonus)
Digital or hand-drawn styles welcome, as long as files are high-resolution and ready for print
Deliverables:
14 full-page illustrations
Optional: cover art and text layout support
Final files in high-res PNG or layered PSD/AI files
Timeline:
Ideally completed within 4–6 weeks, but I’m flexible depending on your availability.
Future Opportunities:
If we’re a good fit, I’d love to continue working together on future children’s books (including an A–Z book on African and Caribbean fruits and vegetables) or educational materials. This could lead to a retainer-style contract or ongoing collaboration.
