Gothic Children’s Book Illustrator
Budget: £10 – £15 GBP
I’m midway through writing a children’s book that leans into a dark, almost Tim-Burton-esque atmosphere, and I need a visual partner who can translate that mood into realistic, digitally rendered scenes. The story moves through candle-lit streets, looming buildings, curious animals and a handful of quirky human characters, so every spread has to feel immersive and gently eerie rather than outright scary.
Because the manuscript is still evolving, the illustration workload will be ongoing. I’ll share finished chapters as they’re locked; from there I’d like to review a rough digital sketch, iterate once or twice, and then receive the final high-resolution artwork (layered PSD or Procreate file) ready for print at 300 dpi. A cohesive palette and consistent lighting are key—shadow play and atmosphere matter more to me than hyper-detailed facial features.
If you thrive on mood-driven storytelling and enjoy shaping worlds one page at a time, let’s start with a single test piece. From there we can continue scene by scene until the book is complete.
