Expand Pokémon Card Artwork to 36" × 16" (All Original Card Elements Must Be 1:1 Identical)
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
Project Overview
I am creating an image that will later be used to print custom desk mousepads.
The image itself should NOT look like a mousepad. It should simply be the artwork that will be printed onto the mousepad.
The design will be based on the Gengar VMAX Pokémon card (alternate art).
I need an artist to expand the environment of the card horizontally while keeping ALL original card elements perfectly identical to the original card.
The goal is to make it look like the original Pokémon card artwork was designed in a widescreen format.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT
The original card details must be 1:1 identical to the original card.
That means the following elements must remain exactly the same:
• Gengar artwork
• Card name text
• HP text
• VMAX text
• Single Strike logo
• Attack text and formatting
• Energy icons
• Attack icons
• Weakness / resistance / retreat icons
• VMAX rule box
• Illustrator credit
• Set number
• All fonts and formatting
• The entire Pokémon card border
Nothing should be redrawn, restyled, reinterpreted, or approximated.
All of these elements should be copied exactly from the original card and placed into the new widescreen layout.
If the details are not identical to the original card, the project will not be considered complete.
CARD BORDER REQUIREMENT
The original Pokémon card border must also be copied exactly.
The border should:
• match the original card design 1:1
• keep the same silver holo style
• keep the same rounded corners
• maintain the same thickness and proportions
The border should wrap around the entire widescreen image, making the final artwork look like a real widescreen Pokémon card.
What Needs To Be Created
The artist should extend the card artwork environment to the left and right while keeping the entire original card perfectly preserved.
Examples of environment elements to extend:
• haunted trees
• ghost fog
• floating berries
• distant houses
• purple sky and clouds
• terrain and pathways
The new artwork should blend seamlessly with the original card artwork style.
IMPORTANT DESIGN RULE
The final image should look like:
A real Pokémon card that exists in a widescreen format.
NOT:
• a card sitting on top of a background
• a card pasted into a scene
• a floating card in the middle of the image
Instead:
The entire image should feel like the card itself.
Final Canvas Size
Canvas size:
10800 × 4800 px
Aspect ratio:
36 : 16
Resolution:
300 DPI
Format:
PNG
Assets Provided
I will provide:
• The original card image
• A concept example of the layout
Deliverables
The final file should include:
• Perfectly preserved card details (1:1 identical)
• The original Pokémon card border recreated exactly
• Extended artwork environment left and right
• Seamless blending of new artwork with original art style
• Print-ready 10800 × 4800 PNG
Additional Notes
Accuracy is extremely important for this project.
If you are not comfortable matching the original card exactly, this project may not be a good fit.
The final piece must look like the official card artwork expanded into a panoramic scene.
NOTE: AI Images uploaded are not correct, but they hopefully will give some visual insight on what I am trying to achieve.
