Children’s Book Emotional Realism Illustrations

I’m preparing a picture book that relies on more than twenty illustrations painted in Soft watercolor and digital gouache with gentle brush textures, warm twilight light, and quiet emotional realism type style

All artwork must be created entirely by hand—whether on paper or in a digital program such as Photoshop, Procreate, or Clip Studio Paint—without any AI assistance. Because the production schedule is tight, I’ll need rapid progress: initial roughs within one week of starting and steady, agreed-upon milestones until the full set is delivered.

Deliverables discussed if sampling and style suit


Acceptance criteria
• Consistent characters across all spreads
• Clear emotional cues (joy, peace, or sadness) appropriate to each scene
• Evidence of hand-drawn workflow (time-lapse, progress screenshots, or equivalent)
