Cartoon Storybook Illustrations Needed
Budget: $25 – $50 AUD
I’m preparing a children’s book aimed at readers aged 8-12 and need a skilled illustrator who can bring the story to life in a bright, playful cartoon style. The narrative follows a cast that shifts between adventurous kids, talking animals, and the occasional friendly dragon, so versatility with both human and non-human characters is essential.
Scope
– Create all interior illustrations (full-page scenes, half-page vignettes, and small spot art as the layout requires).
– Design a captivating front cover that mirrors the interior style and captures the book’s spirit.
– Provide layered source files (PSD or Procreate) along with print-ready CMYK PDFs and high-resolution PNGs.
– Colour palette should stay bold yet readable for middle-grade eyes; expressive line work preferred over heavy rendering.
Acceptance criteria
1. Each character remains visually consistent across the manuscript.
2. Final art delivered at 300 dpi, sized to the trim plus bleed indicated in my template.
3. At least two rounds of revisions to fine-tune poses, facial expressions, and background details.
4. All artwork is original, fully licensed for worldwide print and digital distribution.
I will share the full manuscript and layout mock-ups once we agree on timing and milestones. If you have a portfolio showcasing energetic cartoon pieces featuring animals, kids, or mythical creatures, I’d love to see it—especially spreads that balance humour with dynamic action.
