building a development environment

This is a devops task
I need someone to:
* Configure VSCode for C and C++ development (build , run and debug from VSCode)
* build a simple C/C++ application using openssl inside VSCode
* add unit tests using some testing framework and make it run from VSCode using one of the testing extension

I will provide a Linux virtual machine with openssl and vscode installed
