Mobile CI/CD Pipeline Rebuild & Migration

Job ID: 40243455

Budget: $8 – $15 USD

Senior DevOps Engineer (Contract) – Mobile CI/CD Pipeline Architecture & Migration
We are looking for a highly experienced freelance or contract DevOps engineer to take full ownership of designing and delivering a modern CI/CD pipeline ecosystem for a complex mobile application platform.
This is not a maintenance role. This is a greenfield rebuild inside a governed enterprise environment with strict guardrails, internal artifact repositories, and compliance requirements. You will be responsible for independently delivering production-ready pipelines that meet enterprise quality standards.
The project is already in progress, but we need someone who can step in, take control, and drive it to completion with minimal supervision.
Hourly $12. Long term contract engagement

Project Overview
We are rebuilding the full CI/CD infrastructure for a mobile application suite from first principles. The goal is to create industry-standard, enterprise-grade pipelines that are compliant, scalable, secure, and fully documented.
The environment includes strict workflow guardrails, internal artifact repositories, reusable workflow standards, secrets management constraints, and policy enforcement (OPA-style validation). The pipelines must run within those constraints while maintaining high quality and observability.
The scope includes:

Android pipeline
iOS pipeline
Flutter pipeline
Supporting tooling, automation scripts, and documentation
Trial run readiness with fully operational workflows
We are currently mid-migration and have partially unblocked the Android build environment. There are integration blockers related to artifact repositories, secrets management, and internal tool access. The new contractor will be expected to take full ownership of resolving these and delivering the full solution end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities
You will:

Design and implement enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines for Android, iOS, and Flutter applications
Work within strict reusable workflow and guardrail systems
Integrate internal artifact repositories (Artifactory/JFrog-style systems)
Replace public dependency usage with compliant internal repositories
Implement secure secrets handling using GitHub Actions secrets and/or enterprise vault systems
Integrate build, linting, testing, static analysis, and deployment workflows
Configure environment matrix builds and custom build environments (e.g., STAGE, PROD, QA, etc.)
Resolve policy enforcement failures (e.g., OPA guardrails, repository compliance checks)
Configure Play Store, App Store, Firebase, and distribution workflows
Implement SonarQube, Detekt, SwiftLint, unit tests, and build validations
Migrate legacy CI behavior into modern GitHub Actions workflows
Create documentation suitable for trial run onboarding
Proactively identify integration risks and request required system access in advance
Deliver a fully working, end-to-end pipeline ecosystem ready for trial execution
This role requires someone who can think ahead, anticipate system constraints, and proactively manage dependencies rather than reacting to pipeline failures after the fact.

Required Technical Stack
Strong expertise in:

GitHub Actions (advanced reusable workflows, matrix builds, composite actions)
Android CI/CD (Gradle, AGP, Kotlin builds)
iOS CI/CD (Xcode builds, Swift, signing, provisioning)
Flutter CI/CD
JFrog / Artifactory integration
Private dependency repository configuration
Secrets management (GitHub Secrets, Vault, environment injection)
OPA or policy-based pipeline enforcement
SonarQube integration
Static analysis tools (Detekt, SwiftLint, ktlint)
Firebase App Distribution
Play Store & App Store automation
Fastlane
Multi-environment build configuration (DEV, STAGE, PROD, etc.)
Enterprise CI/CD governance patterns
Nice to have:

Experience migrating from GitLab CI to GitHub Actions
Experience working in regulated or enterprise-restricted CI environments
Experience designing CI systems from scratch under guardrails

Expected Deliverables

Fully operational Android CI/CD pipeline compliant with enterprise guardrails
Fully operational iOS CI/CD pipeline
Fully operational Flutter CI/CD pipeline
Integrated static analysis, testing, and quality gates
Secure and documented secrets management strategy
Internal artifact repository integration fully configured
Deployment automation to distribution platforms
Setup scripts for build environments
Clear documentation for onboarding and trial run execution
All pipelines stable and production-ready before trial milestone
The final output must be something that can be confidently presented to stakeholders as a premium, industry-standard solution — not just a stitched-together collection of reusable workflows.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Senior-level DevOps engineer with strong mobile CI/CD experience
Comfortable operating independently and making architectural decisions
Proactive communicator who flags risks early
Able to work inside constrained enterprise environments
Quality-focused — does not ship “good enough”
Strong troubleshooting skills across build systems, dependency resolution, and CI orchestration
Comfortable working under timeline pressure and delivering against milestones
