Project Overview:
We have a GitHub repository that contains large, unnecessary files (logs, SQL dumps, unoptimized images). These files must be permanently removed to optimize storage and performance.
Your role:
• Remove oversized files from GitHub repository (logs, SQL dumps, unnecessary assets).
• Rewrite Git history to reduce repository size and remove past commits with large files.
• Set up .gitignore to ensure future commits do not contain unnecessary files.
• Move large static assets (images, fonts, JSON files) to a CDN or suggest a better alternative.
• Basic image optimization (if possible): Convert large PNG/JPEG images to WebP.
What We Expect from You:
✔ Strong experience with Git/GitHub optimization (you should be able to remove large files properly).
✔ Familiarity with Git history cleanup techniques (e.g., filter-branch, BFG Repo Cleaner).
✔ Ability to work independently & provide best practices for maintaining a clean repo.
