DevOps Setup on DigitalOcean
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
My entire stack runs on Digital Ocean, and I need an experienced DevOps engineer to bring order, speed, and reliability to the way I build and ship code. The core objectives are to automate routine server tasks, establish a clean CI/CD pipeline, and put solid monitoring and logging in place so I can spot issues before they hit production.
Right now deployments are manual and error-prone; there are no IaC scripts or dashboards. I want to move to an infrastructure-as-code approach—Terraform or Ansible are both fine—as long as the end result lets me recreate every environment from scratch with a single command. For CI/CD, you’re free to recommend the toolset (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.), provided the workflow remains simple for developers to trigger and roll back.
Deliverables
• Reproducible IaC scripts for Droplets, load balancers, databases, and networking
• A CI/CD pipeline file that builds, tests, and deploys to staging and production
• Monitoring and logging setup (Prometheus/Grafana, Loki, or equivalent) with basic alert policies
• Clear README documentation so another engineer can understand and extend your work
Acceptance criteria
1. A new Droplet created via the IaC scripts matches the current production spec within minutes.
2. Pushing to the main branch automatically builds, tests, and deploys without manual intervention.
3. Key system metrics and application logs appear in the monitoring dashboard and trigger alerts on threshold breaches.
