DevOps Engineer for AI Voice Platform

Project Overview
We are building a HIPAA-compliant SaaS platform that uses AI voice agents (Retell AI) to capture and process inbound phone calls from MedSpa and healthcare clients. We are seeking an experienced DevOps or full-stack engineer to fully deploy our backend infrastructure using Aptible, n8n, and PostgreSQL. This infrastructure must be fully HIPAA-compliant, secure, and scalable.

You will be responsible for end-to-end setup and configuration of our infrastructure, including hosting, database encryption, data workflows, and optionally a dashboard for client access.

Stack Overview
The platform uses the following tools:

Retell AI (webhook source for call summaries and transcripts)

n8n (workflow automation engine)

Aptible (HIPAA-compliant PaaS hosting)

PostgreSQL (encrypted data storage)

Retool or Glide (dashboard for clients to access their own data)

Scope of Work
Aptible App and Database Setup

Deploy n8n as a Docker container on Aptible

Set up a PostgreSQL database within Aptible with encryption enabled

Configure all necessary Aptible environment variables, including secure keys

Webhook Integration with Retell

Create an HTTPS webhook endpoint in n8n to receive call data from Retell

Process incoming data including name, phone number, call summary, transcript, and member ID

Encrypt and store sensitive data using PostgreSQL's pgp_sym_encrypt or similar method

Database Schema Configuration

Create a call_logs table with proper fields and secure storage for transcripts and PHI

Ensure data is encrypted at rest and structured for easy query/filtering

Optional Client Dashboard

Build a secure dashboard in Retool or Glide

Configure login access per client and apply row-level security to ensure clients only see their own data

Include filters by date, search capability for transcripts, and basic analytics

HIPAA Compliance and Security

Ensure full HIPAA compliance for all services in use

Enable HTTPS, access logging, and appropriate firewall/security group rules

Ensure PHI is not stored in logs or exposed in application errors

Deliverables
Deployed n8n instance running on Aptible

Fully configured Aptible PostgreSQL database

Working call ingestion workflow (Retell → n8n → database)

Encrypted call_logs table with sample data

Documentation covering architecture, configuration, and manual operations

Optional: Retool or Glide dashboard connected to Aptible database with user-specific views

Ideal Candidate Qualifications
Proven experience deploying on Aptible or similar HIPAA-compliant PaaS

Familiarity with Docker, n8n, PostgreSQL, and Retool or Glide

Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and encryption best practices

Experience integrating APIs and building automated data pipelines

Timeline and Budget
Start date: Immediate

Deadline: Within 7–10 business days

Budget: Open to hourly or fixed-price proposals depending on scope and experience
