About the Project
We are a technology company focused on self-service retail systems and cashless payment solutions. Our infrastructure includes live API services running in production, built with Node.js, MongoDB, and Dockerized microservices, deployed via GitLab CI/CD on DigitalOcean.
We are seeking an experienced freelance DevOps engineer who can analyze our current infrastructure, design a secure, scalable, and cost-efficient architecture, and help us migrate with zero downtime.
Responsibilities
The expert will be responsible for:
• Analyzing the current live infrastructure (Docker, servers, CI/CD, monitoring, etc.)
• Designing a new DevOps architecture that is secure, scalable, and cost-effective
• Planning the infrastructure with a clear cost-performance analysis (DigitalOcean-based)
• Setting up and separating PRODUCTION, STAGING, and DEVELOPMENT environments
• Performing system tests and validations (load tests, zero-downtime checks, etc.)
• Installing and configuring observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, etc.)
• Defining DevOps security policies and access control
• Creating a platform-independent, container-based, and fully observable system
• Delivering technical documentation and DevOps policy definitions for internal use
Our Current Stack
• Infrastructure: DigitalOcean (Droplets, Volumes), Cloudflare for DNS
• Backend: Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB
• Containers: Docker, Docker Swarm (Kubernetes experience is a plus)
• CI/CD: GitLab Pipelines
• Monitoring: Traefik, basic logs (to be improved)
Requirements
• Must plan and execute the transition with zero downtime
• All changes must be implemented under our supervision and approval
• Freelancer must be highly experienced with production-grade DevOps setups
• Communication in Turkish is mandatory
• Must be able to share reference projects or sample GitHub repositories
• Must deliver clear documentation at the end of the project
Budget and Work Model
• Duration: Estimated 2–4 weeks for initial setup, with optional follow-up work
• Budget: We have a limited monthly infrastructure cost; optimization is critical
• Engagement: Freelance, remote, hourly or fixed-price model
• Clear and consistent communication is expected throughout the project
