AWS Infrastructure Audit & Cost / Performance Optimization
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹7,500 INR
Project Description
My current production workload runs entirely on AWS EC2, and while usage grows, monthly costs are increasing and application response times are degrading. I’m looking for an experienced AWS / DevOps engineer to perform a data-driven infrastructure audit and recommend optimizations.
The engagement will begin with a deep-dive assessment of the existing environment, followed by a cost- and performance-balanced architecture proposal. All findings must be supported with measurable evidence, not assumptions.
Phase 1 — Infrastructure Audit
The audit should cover:
EC2 CPU, memory, and disk I/O utilization
Database behavior and performance (MySQL)
Network flow and latency analysis
CloudWatch metrics and logs review
Identification of bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and cost drivers
Deliverable
A detailed audit report including:
Graphs and CloudWatch metrics
Screenshots and configuration observations
Clear explanation of performance and cost issues
Actionable recommendations backed by data
Phase 2 — Architecture Optimization Proposal
Based on audit findings, propose an optimized architecture that balances performance, reliability, and cost.
EC2 should be treated as the baseline
You may compare alternatives such as Lightsail or managed services, where relevant
Provide a clear architecture diagram
Include projected monthly AWS spend
Justify each component and design decision
Phase 3 — Implementation (If Approved)
If we proceed, the scope will include:
Provisioning and hardening EC2 instances
Separate production and staging environments
Web stack configuration (NGINX or Apache, PHP, MySQL)
Automated backups
Basic monitoring and alerting
Rollback and recovery steps clearly documented
Required Skills
AWS / Cloud Computing
DevOps & Automation
EC2 & CloudWatch
Apache / NGINX
PHP
MySQL / Database Management
Network Administration
Performance Tuning
Engagement Notes
Preference for engineers with real production optimization experience
Strong documentation and communication expected
Data-driven decision making is critical
If you have experience diagnosing real-world AWS performance and cost problems and can back recommendations with metrics and evidence, this project will be a good fit.
