Windows Desktop Automation App Development

I need a seasoned Windows developer to craft a small desktop application that will sit alongside an existing program and carry out its most repetitive workflows automatically. The target program offers no official automation tooling in some areas, so the solution must be flexible enough to drive the on-screen interface when an API is missing, yet switch to direct API calls wherever they are available.

The application you build should run as a fully self-contained .exe, present a tidy, modern GUI, and allow me to save different configurations so multiple user profiles or sessions can be launched without re-creating settings each time. Clean structure, clear naming, and comments are all important because I plan to extend the automation later.

I am comfortable with C#/.NET, but I am open to another language if you can justify why it fits better. Whichever stack you choose, please rely on battle-tested libraries for UI automation and keep external dependencies minimal.
