Python Windows Desktop Framework
Budget: $10 – $30 AUD
I am planning a Windows- or mac o s desktop application and want to get the fundamentals right before any feature work begins. The codebase will be written entirely in Python, so I’m looking for guidance and hands-on help in shaping a clean, scalable project structure that covers:
• A solid folder and module layout (packages, virtualenv, dependency management with pip/Poetry)
• Choice and configuration of development tools—version control (Git), automated testing (pytest), type checking (mypy), CI/CD, and a preferred IDE setup
• Recommended design patterns for a state-heavy desktop app (MVC or MVVM in PySide/PyQt or a comparable toolkit)
• Documentation standards and a lightweight methodology that keeps future contributors productive without over-engineering
Deliverable: a ready-to-clone repository containing the skeleton code, sample unit tests, a README that explains the workflow, and short screencast or written walkthrough so I can extend the project confidently.
I will review by spinning up the repo on a fresh Windows machine; if it installs cleanly, tests pass, and the structure matches the agreed outline, the job is done.
