Desktop Returns & QC Automation
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I need a Windows-based desktop application that streamlines two critical workflows in my warehouse: product returns (RMAs) and quality-control automation. The goal is to replace the current mix of spreadsheets and manual checks with a single executable that staff can install on any Windows 10/11 workstation and start using immediately.
Core functionality
• Returns management – generate RMA numbers, capture reason codes, update item status as it moves from “received” to “restocked”, “refurbish”, or “scrap”, and keep a full audit trail that can be exported to CSV or PDF.
• QC automation – configurable checklists per SKU, pass/fail logging, video attachment via webcam or USB camera, and automatic flagging of items that fall outside tolerance.
Key requirements
• Local database (SQLite or similar) with an option to point to an on-prem SQL Server later.
• Clean WPF/WinUI or Electron front-end—whichever lets you move fastest.
• Barcode scanner input and label printing through common thermal printers (Zebra, Brother).
• Role-based login, with admin able to add/edit users and pull productivity reports.
• Compiled installer, full source code, and build instructions delivered at hand-off.
Timeline
A functional MVP is needed inside four weeks, so I’d like milestones set weekly: database schema & UI mock-ups, core RMA flow, QC module, then polish/testing.
Acceptance
I will sign off when the executable runs on our Windows machines without additional dependencies, the sample database seeds correctly, and both main workflows complete end-to-end with data persisting between sessions.
