Backend-Heavy Full Stack ML Engineer for SaaS Automation
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Looking for a seasoned full stack (backend heavy) ML engineer to create a web-based SaaS product focused on task automation. The specific tasks to be automated will be determined later, but a strong emphasis on data processing is anticipated.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Full stack development with a focus on backend
- Strong experience in machine learning
- Proven track record of SaaS product development
- Expertise in task automation
- Proficient in web application development
Please note, the exact nature of the tasks to be automated is yet to be determined, and your input in optimizing this process will be invaluable.
Project Overview – Vendor Security Score Agent (Milestone 1 of 4):
I’m building a fully automated, end-to-end SaaS product that evaluates the security posture of vendors by analyzing both private SOC 2 reports and publicly available security data. The final product should include everything needed for a production-ready SaaS solution: UI/UX design, frontend, backend, APIs, data processing, and infrastructure.
The project will be executed in 4 structured milestones, and this is for Milestone 1 only.
⸻
Milestone 1 – Core Engine (Vendor Security Score Agent)
This milestone involves building the intelligent scoring logic that:
• Accepts a SOC 2 report (PDF, DOCX, or JSON) and vendor name
• Extracts private security metrics from the report (e.g., Trust Service Criteria, exceptions, MFA, encryption, etc.)
• Scrapes public data such as breach history, regulatory fines, dark web leaks, customer reviews, and employee sentiment
• Computes a composite vendor risk score using a pre-defined formula (60% from SOC 2 analysis + 40% from public data)
I’ve referenced tools like CrewAI, LangChain, BeautifulSoup, and FastAPI to help conceptualize the system. However, you are free to use more advanced, modern tools available in 2025 — tools that help deliver this milestone within a week, not months.
For inspiration, you can explore existing platforms like:
• SecurityScorecard – for public security scoring
• Whistic – for trust profile sharing and security reports
⸻
Future Milestones
Once Milestone 1 is successfully completed, I’ll share full requirements for the next 3 milestones. The end goal is a feature-complete SaaS platform with dashboards, login/auth, vendor management, report upload, detailed risk scoring, and UI/UX polish.
⸻
Maintenance Clause
The total bid should also include 6 months of post-launch maintenance, which covers bug fixes, minor updates, and basic operational support.
⸻
Payment Structure
I will divide your total bid amount into 4 equal milestones. For example, if your total quote is $100, Milestone 1 will be paid at $25 after successful delivery. Each milestone will be paid upon completion before moving to the next.
⸻
Important Notes to Freelancers
• No generic, AI-generated proposals please. I am looking for someone who reads the details, understands the product vision, and can take initiative.
• This is a serious SaaS product, not a prototype or quick script — I’m looking for a developer or team that can own the full lifecycle.
• I value quality, scalability, and maintainability. The code must be clean, well-structured, and ready to evolve with the product.
⸻
Please Answer These Questions in Your Proposal (Mandatory):
To ensure you’ve understood the requirements, include short answers to the following:
1. Based on the milestone description, what tools or tech stack would you prefer to use and why?
2. How would you handle extraction of data from unstructured SOC 2 reports (e.g., PDFs)?
3. Can you describe your plan for scoring vendors based on both private and public data?
4. Are you comfortable committing to 6 months of maintenance support post-launch?
5. Can you realistically deliver this first milestone in 1 week using modern tools available in 2025?

- Proven track record of SaaS product development
- Expertise in task automation
