Structural Verification of Cantilever Designs
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
I am seeking a structural engineer to assess, verify, and provide design input on two steel cantilever canopy designs, in accordance with the relevant British Standards.
One design is an existing, previously approved cantilever that has since been optimised and requires rechecking. The second is a new dual-arm cantilever design based on the same structural principles.
Scope of Works
1. Single-Arm Cantilever (Existing Design – Optimised)
• This design has previously been structurally checked, manufactured, and installed.
• The design has since been optimised, and therefore requires a new structural check and verification.
• Calculations are required to confirm the updated design remains safe, sound, and compliant.
2. Dual-Arm Cantilever (New Design)
• A new cantilever design using two arms.
• Follows the same design principles as the single-arm cantilever.
• Requires a full structural assessment and calculations to confirm compliance with British Standards.
Deliverables
• Structural calculations for both designs
• Confirmation of compliance with relevant British Standards
• Engineer’s signed calculations suitable for client and contractor review
• Written design advice or recommendations where further development or optimisation is identified
