Precast Concrete Bench Design
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Scope of Work
The consultant/freelancer shall provide complete design, structural calculations, and fabrication drawings for precast concrete benches to be manufactured in a precast factory and submitted for engineer approval.
Bench Types Required
Straight Bench – Type A
Straight Bench – Type B
Curved Bench – Type C
(Final dimensions to be confirmed / coordinated with landscape IFC drawings.)
Design Requirements
Benches shall be designed for outdoor use in a landscape environment.
Structural design to consider dead load, live load, and serviceability.
Concrete grade: minimum 40 MPa (40N OPC) or as specified.
Reinforcement: deformed steel bars, corrosion-protected if required.
Design shall allow for safe lifting, transportation, and installation.
Curved bench radius to be coordinated with architectural / landscape drawings.
Applicable Codes & Standards
Design calculations shall comply with one of the following (to be confirmed):
ACI 318 (latest edition), or
Eurocode 2, or
BS EN standards
All assumptions shall be clearly stated in the calculation report.
Deliverables
The freelancer shall submit the following for each bench type:
1. Design Calculations
Structural design calculations
Load assumptions and combinations
Reinforcement design and checks
Crack control and durability considerations
2. Shop / Fabrication Drawings
General arrangement drawings
Plan, elevation, and sections
Full reinforcement detailing
Concrete cover and tolerances
Lifting anchor locations and details
Joint details (if any)
3. Mould / Formwork Drawings
Mould layout and assembly details
Dimensions suitable for factory fabrication
Curved bench mould segmentation if applicable
4. Material Specifications
Concrete mix design reference
Reinforcement grades
Finishes and surface treatment (as specified)
Submission Format
Drawings in DWG + PDF
Calculations in PDF (signed & dated)
All files clearly labeled and coordinated
Review & Revisions
One (1) full submission
Up to two (2) revision cycles based on engineer/client comments
Responsibility
The freelancer shall be fully responsible for:
Accuracy of calculations
Code compliance
Buildability of the proposed design
Expected Outcome
