Seeking a 32bit Delphi expert hacker.

Job ID: 30958076

Budget: $30 – $250 AUD

This is an extension to a recently posted freelance job.

I have an old program and associated text database from an old CD ROM set.
The original freelancer job was to export all the data into a modern usable program - Excel as an example.
Another freelancer has worked with, opened and operated the program on a WinXP machine via an emulator.

He has been unable to export the database contents directly. But he has managed to identify that the program can export the details of the database at 200 records at a time.

He suggests a debugger may be able to be used to change that program outcome.

The freelancer has advised that the program is written in Delphi. It is a 32 bit app and it only runs in a emulator enivronment on WinXP. I have about 12 CD ROMs that made up the set. I will forward a zipped folder of one of those CD's for you to work on and test.

I will not send the disc/file to any application who doesn't explain in their response something about what I might be looking at in this program or how they might proceed in solving the issue. This is to prevent auto/spam job applications here.

Im looking to hack the program to alter the maximum number of records returned from the 200 maximum it is programmed with. I want to set a new maximum to easily download the contents of the entire database into CSV or similar.

The stability or usability of the program at the conlcusion of any such hack of the software is not important, so as long as all the data can be exported, whether or not the progarm is usable again is not important.

The deliverable is a working program to export all the data held within the programs database - OR - if you are able or want to run it while you are actually working on it, the contents of the entire database in CSV or similar.

Happy to answer questions as best i can.
