Cerebrum Training Specialist Needed
Budget: $10 – $100 USD
I’m currently expanding the Cerebrum team – an open-source deep learning architecture designed to demonstrate flexibility across multiple model variants. You can view the current state of the project here:

We are looking for a dedicated Training Specialist to join our small, passionate team. This role is ideal for someone with local compute resources (e.g., GPU access), experience in training deep learning models, and a keen eye for evaluating results and contributing actionable feedback to improve our model design and datasets.
Project Overview
Cerebrum is an experimental, modular architecture that will be trained into four distinct models to showcase its flexibility. All final models will be published on Hugging Face under an open-source license, and the project emphasizes collaboration, iteration, and learning.
Your Role: Training Specialist
Key Responsibilities:
Run training scripts provided by the Data and Architecture Specialists.
Evaluate model outputs using appropriate metrics and qualitative insights.
Provide detailed feedback on training performance and suggestions for improvement.
Collaborate with the team to iteratively improve the architecture and dataset.
Support training for four model variants to be published on Hugging Face.
You Should Have:
Access to local compute resources suitable for deep learning (e.g., an NVIDIA GPU).
Experience training models using PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Familiarity with training pipelines, loss debugging, and performance tuning.
An understanding of evaluating generative or classification models (depending on Cerebrum’s use cases).
Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate asynchronously via GitHub and chat.
Compensation & Recognition
We’re operating on a limited budget, so compensation is:
$100 total for training all four models (one-time).
Full credit on:
Cerebrum’s GitHub repository.
Hugging Face model cards (you’ll be credited as Cerebrum’s Official Training Specialist).
A link to your freelancer or personal site for future work referrals.
This is a passion-driven, collaborative effort with long-term visibility in the open-source AI community.
Team Structure
Architectural Specialist: Designs and iteratively improves Cerebrum’s architecture.
Data Specialist: Prepares training data and builds training scripts.
Training Specialist (You): Runs training, evaluates results, provides feedback.
Project Lead: Oversees project, integrates feedback, manages publishing and outreach.
