Camberwell Deck Clean & Re-oil

I’ve just moved into a one–year-old home in Camberwell and want to give the timber deck a proper refresh before summer. The deck is in sound condition—no splintering or rot—but it does need a professional clean and two fresh coats of oil.

• Access: the deck currently has a tables and chairs and a BBQ that and put back once the job is complete. I can help with this.
• Products: I don’t have any on hand and would appreciate your recommendations on a quality deck cleaner and penetrating oil that will enhance the grain and stand up to Melbourne weather.
Preferred workflow
1. Carefully relocate all furniture and cover any nearby walls or garden beds.
2. Wash the deck to remove dirt, light mildew and the thin existing oil layer—soft-wash or low-pressure preferred to avoid raising the grain.
3. Allow adequate drying time, then apply the recommended oil (two coats unless you advise otherwise) with an even, streak-free finish.
4. Return the furniture, tidy the area and dispose of any waste responsibly.
