Resolve Wear OS Login Failure
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
The companion Android app and its Wear OS module now reject every single sign-in attempt. Nothing in the console, codebase, or Play Store listing changed recently, so the failure is unexpected yet 100% reproducible.
Task overview
• Trace the authentication flow shared by the handheld app and the watch tile/app.
• Identify whatever is blocking or dropping the token hand-off that causes the login failure.
• Patch the code, update any WearableListenerService or Health Services calls if they’re involved, and confirm that both devices authenticate and stay paired without side effects.
Deliverables
- A concise root-cause summary (log snippets or stack traces welcome)
- Clean, commented code fixes pushed to the existing Git branch
- Confirmation video or screenshots proving successful login on phone and watch, repeated at least three times
- Two-paragraph hand-off note outlining next steps for QA or future updates
Acceptance criteria: a new user can sign in on the phone, have the session propagate to the watch, and repeat the process without errors on three consecutive installs.
