Resolve Error-Prone Test Cases in Cucumber-Java

Job ID: 40236740

Budget: ₹400 – ₹750 INR

Project Description: Fix Failed Test Cases in Cucumber-with-Java Framework (IntelliJ)

I have an existing Cucumber-with-Java automation framework built in IntelliJ, and I’m looking for an experienced Automation QA engineer to help fix several failing test cases. Some tests are running successfully, but a few are consistently failing due to errors that need expert debugging and correction.

The framework is already set up with:

Cucumber + Java

Selenium WebDriver for UI interactions

Maven for build management

Running tests directly from IntelliJ

What I Need From You:

Review the existing project structure and identify the root cause of failing test cases.

Debug, fix, and optimize the failing step definitions, locators, hooks, runner files, or any configuration issues.

Ensure all test cases pass successfully without flaky behavior.

Improve stability where necessary (synchronization, waits, reusable functions, etc.).

Maintain the current framework structure while applying best practices.

Provide a short explanation or notes on what was fixed so I can maintain the suite later.

Access & Workflow:

I will share the entire project along with required details, and remote access can be given if needed. You will be expected to:

Set up the project cleanly on your local system.

Run/debug the test suite using Maven commands and IntelliJ.

Fix the failing tests and ensure smooth execution end-to-end.

Deliverables:

All test cases passing successfully

A stable and clean automation setup runnable from a single Maven command

Short documentation/readme on fixes and steps to run the tests

Quick troubleshooting session if required
