21data uses mainly time series data for self-service analytics application. Currently, the data is stored in
memory in numpy arrays. There is a need to support a different kind of store for the data for several
reasons:
● long term storage and persistent storage
● large data sets >1TB (which can typically not be held in memory)
● integration into existing IT infrastructure / use of existing storages
To be able to use an external data store as a replacement for the internal data store, several
requirements have to be fulfilled to enable self-service application for the user with fluent workflow.
Typical performance measures like ingest and read rates are not the right measures. Instead, we would
like to evaluation the performance of different storage solution based on other measures
