I am seeking an experienced Solutions Database Architect to join in the team and take ownership of reviewing, optimizing, and scaling the database architecture for my buy-and-sell platform for cars, motorbikes, car parts, and motorbike parts. This platform connects buyers and sellers, facilitating smooth transactions while handling large volumes of data efficiently. Your expertise will directly impact the application's performance, scalability, and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
Database Architecture Review: Analyze the current database architecture, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
Optimization: Design and implement strategies to optimize database performance, including query optimization, indexing, and schema redesign.
Scalability: Ensure the database can handle high traffic and data loads, supporting future growth of the platform.
Data Modeling: Develop and refine data models that align with the platform’s business logic and requirements.
Performance Monitoring: Set up systems to monitor database performance in real time and proactively resolve issues.
Collaboration: Work closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to ensure database solutions meet the application's functional and non-functional requirements.
Documentation: Maintain clear and thorough documentation of the database structure, optimization strategies, and best practices.
Security and Compliance: Implement robust data security measures to safeguard sensitive user information and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Database Architect, Solutions Architect, or similar role.
Expertise in database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and BE code Python Django
Strong knowledge of database optimization techniques, including indexing, partitioning, and query tuning.
Experience with large-scale, high-traffic platforms and designing systems for high availability.
Proficiency in data modeling tools and techniques.
Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Azure SQL Database).
Understanding of API design and integration with databases.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
Experience with caching solutions such as Redis or Memcached.
Knowledge of analytics tools and data pipelines (e.g., ETL processes).
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Background in the automotive or e-commerce industry is a plus.
